Cost-effectiveness analysis of 5% lidocaine medicated plaster monotherapy versus Pregabalin or Gabapentin in the treatment of post herpetic neuralgia and diabetic polyneuropathy under the perspective of Brazilian public healthcare system
Objectives: The objective of this analysis was based on the results of a systematic literature review of randomized controlled trials, performed specifically for this study, comparing LMP and placebo or active comparators in the treatment of neuropathic pain, which showed that LMP brings benefits in the treatment of these patients. Thus, our objective was to assess these benefits combined with costs, performing a cost-effectiveness analysis of LMP versus pregabalin and gabapentin monotherapy for the treatment of PHN and DPN under the perspective of the Brazilian public healthcare system.
